Golden Fleece Pub

Reputed to be one of the oldest pubs in York, its been an inn since at least 1656. Once owned by the lord Mayor of York in 1702. The name comes from its connection to the woollen trade.

Now famous for being one of the most haunted pubs in Britain. When I was there I never saw any thing supernatural, the ability of my pint to stay put on the sloping table was quite impressive. Quite how the building stay standing is another mystery non of the walls are straight neither is the floor. This all adds a lot of character to the building. Well worth a visit. If you are in the mood for a scaring I believe the do ghost nights where you can stay upstairs in the really haunted rooms.
